Welcome to the mountain! We're so glad you're here to celebrate with us. Mt. Hood Skibowl is a working ski area, so getting everyone up to the ceremony and back down safely takes a little coordination — this page walks through how that works, the day's schedule, and a few things worth knowing before you head up.
Please read through the whole page — it covers important details about the ceremony, shuttles, and more that you'll want to know before the big day.
Once you get to Skibowl West, most guests will walk over to the scenic chairlift and ride up, then take a short walk to the site. If you let us know you're unable to ride the chairlift, you'll instead take the ceremony shuttle, a single trip up the mountain road before the ceremony — it's also there for elderly guests, anyone with mobility needs, and little ones under three. That's different from the lodging shuttle, which runs all night on a loop with multiple stops near hotels around Government Camp, rather than up to the ceremony itself.

⏱️ Transit Time
Once you've arrived at Skibowl West, please plan for a 20 to 30 minute travel window to reach the ceremony area. We highly recommend starting early!
🚙 Parking Info
Complimentary wedding guest parking is available at the main lot adjacent to the lodges at Skibowl West. Look for signs pointing towards the reception tent.
🎁 Bringing Anything?
Your presence is truly the only gift we need! But if you happen to be carrying something along, most folks are dropping items off at the reception tent before heading up to the chairlift, rather than carrying them up the mountain.
🎟️ Guest Lift Passes
All wedding guests will receive a personalized wristband at the lift, valid for one chairlift ride up to the Warming Hut and one ride back down (either on the chairlift or Alpine Slide!).

Shuttle & Event Schedule
The Lodging Loop
Continuous loops run for 30 minutes, picking up guests at Collins Lake Resort, Best Western, and Grand Lodges and dropping off at Skibowl West, the base lift station.
Recommended Chairlift Arrival
If you planned to ride the chairlift, please allow enough time to ride up and take a short walk down to the site. We recommend guests arrive at the lift station no later than 3:45 PM to allow plenty of time. The chair takes about 15 minutes and there is a short walk through the woods. We also recommend comfortable shoes!
Ceremony Shuttle Departure
This is the shuttle up to the ceremony itself (not the lodging loop) and it leaves the base parking lot promptly at 4:00 PM. Seating is limited, so it's reserved for guests who let us know they can't ride the chairlift, along with the elderly, guests with mobility needs, and kids under three.
Wedding Ceremony Begins
The celebration begins at 4,000 feet elevation at the Mid-Mountain Overlook / Historic Warming Hut. Dinner and drinks at the reception to follow immediately at the base tent.
Descent & Slide Departure
Right after the ceremony, stick around for a quick champagne toast at the site. Then it's time to head down — those not taking the shuttle get to ride the alpine slides! The Alpine Slide entrance is a short 5–10 minute walk from the ceremony area. Guests may also descend via the Scenic Lower Chairlift.
Reception & Bar Opens
Dinner, drinks, and dancing kick off under the Reception Tent at the base of Skibowl West! Cheers!
Return Shuttles
Continuous shuttles run loop drops back to all guest lodging until everyone is returned home safely.
At the Ceremony
Restrooms & Water
The ceremony site has a rustic, outhouse-style restroom and no running water — but bottled water will be on hand to keep everyone comfortable.
An Unplugged Ceremony
We're keeping phones and cameras tucked away during the ceremony so everyone can be fully present — our photographer has it covered!
Champagne Toast
Right after we say "I do," stick around for a champagne toast at the ceremony site before we all head back down to the reception.
The Pickup Locations
Collins Lake Resort
Look for the posted shuttle schedule located directly at the main resort office entrance.
Best Western
Pickup area located adjacent to the front lobby roundabout.
Grand Lodges
Convenient curbside pickup located outside the main lodging complex.
Skibowl West
The transit base. Main parking lot adjacent to the reception tent.
Guest Travel Advisory
- Comfortable Footwear Required: Because the ceremony and Alpine Slide paths are forest hikes on gravel paths, comfortable shoes are highly recommended! We advise against wearing thin heels. You can change into dress shoes at the reception tent afterward.
- Chairlift & Slide Rules: Kids must be at least 3 years old to ride the chairlift, and at least 48 inches tall to ride the Alpine Slide alone (younger kids may ride on an adult's lap). Each chair holds 2 people, so if you're bringing kids, you may need to buddy up with another guest or family member to get everyone up.
- Ceremony Shuttle vs. Lodging Loop: Don't mix these up — the lodging loop shuttles you between the hotels and the base all evening, while the ceremony shuttle is the one-time ride up the mountain road before 4:00 PM. That ride is reserved for guests who told us they can't ride the chairlift, plus the elderly, guests with mobility needs, and children under 3.
- Safety First: Please do not attempt to walk across Highway 26 at night. It is extremely dark and dangerous. The lodging shuttle loop will run all night until the conclusion of the event to get you home safely.
